Job Summary:

Hays Specialist Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Digital Systems Trainer to join our client's Digital Skills and Development team. As the successful candidate, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of digital capability initiatives across academic schools and/or professional SBUs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Execution of Digital Capabilities Strategy: Assist in the design and delivery of training sessions (in person and online) for staff and student audiences, ensuring effective programmes of digital skills development opportunities.
  • Digital Capabilities Needs Assessment: Promote the Jisc Discovery Tool, analyze Jisc Digital Experience Insights Survey results, consult with SBUs, and analyze training and development feedback to inform digital skills development strategies.
  • Technology Evaluation and Research: Research, identify, and evaluate the effectiveness of technologies and resources being considered for the university's digital skills development offering, ensuring they meet high standards and are fit for purpose.
  • Inclusive and Accessible Skills Development: Identify new and creative ways to leverage freely available software, personal devices, and University provisioned technologies to ensure opportunities for skills development are inclusive and accessible.
  • Technical and Pedagogical Support: Provide technical and pedagogical support for the design and development of blended and flexible learning experiences that are engaging and effective.
  • Administration and Digital Badging: Manage administration and digital badging/credential systems to validate skills development and provide recognition.

Requirements:

  • Substantial Experience in Training and Development: Proven experience in supporting the design and delivery of live synchronous and/or in-person training sessions, across one or more areas of digital skills development to small and large audiences.
  • Online Course Development: Proven experience in supporting the development of online self-study course materials that are high in quality, engaging, and effective.
  • Digital Badging and Credentials: Experience in using digital badging/credentials to recognize skills development, provide motivation, and provide validation.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Jisc Digital Capabilities Framework and/or other similar frameworks and tools used to assess development needs, as well as knowledge of interaction design principles, including digital accessibility standards.
  • Education and Training: Knowledge of copyright laws and General Data Protection Regulation and their application in the HE sector.
