About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Second Chef to join our team at Dorset House, a caring and friendly residential care home located near Upton Country Park and Poole Quay.

As a Second Chef, you will be responsible for creating, preparing, and cooking nutritious meals for our residents, ensuring quality and presentation are always to a high standard.

You will work closely with our Head Chef to plan meals and menus, consulting with residents and care staff to ensure individual dietary needs and preferences are catered for.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and cooking meals to a high standard
  • Planning and implementing menus in consultation with residents and care staff
  • Supervising and supporting the kitchen team
  • Ensuring health and safety and other relevant legislation is adhered to
  • Covering for the Head Chef when necessary

We are looking for someone with a passion for cooking, who is organized and able to meet deadlines. Ideally, you will have experience working in a kitchen producing attractive and high-quality meals in high volumes.

A Certificate in NVQ Level 2 Food Production/Hygiene or interest in undertaking one is desirable. You will need an understanding of health and safety and other current relevant legislation.
