We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Crime Prevention Assistant to join our team at Compliance Professionals. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our financial systems and preventing financial crime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Alert Review and Investigation: Perform thorough reviews and investigations of alerts generated from screening systems to identify potential financial crime risks.
- Sanctions Match Escalation: Investigate and escalate potential sanctions matches to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Transaction Monitoring: Review and investigate alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems to identify potential financial crime risks.
- SARS Escalation: Escalate Suspicious Activity Reports (SARS) to ensure timely and effective action is taken.
- Quality Assurance: Undertake Quality Assurance (QA) reviews to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of our financial crime prevention processes.
- AML Policy Awareness: Maintain an awareness of our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Transaction Monitoring Management: Monitor and maintain the Transaction Monitoring Management Information system to ensure it is up to date and accurate.
- Business Relationships: Maintain effective business relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Audit Trails: Ensure the accuracy and maintenance of audit trails for all work undertaken.
- Ad Hoc and Project Work: Perform other ad hoc and project-related work as required to support the team and achieve business objectives.
Requirements:
- Sanctions Experience: Extensive experience in sanctions alerts and screening is essential for this role.
- Transaction Monitoring Experience: Experience in reviewing and investigating alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems is required.
- AML Experience: Experience in conducting Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring activities for institutional business is essential.
- AML Certification: AML/Financial Crime Prevention related certification is preferred but not essential.
- Banking Experience: Experience in a banking environment is preferred but not essential.
