Job Title: Senior Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Hillingdon Older People's Mental Health Services. As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing a highly specialist psychology service to people accessing our services, including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, and monitoring of outcomes.

You will work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service. You will take responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters and provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent, and be registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist. You will have experience of working as a clinical specialist under supervision in the field of mental health of older people and dementia care, and have completed training in clinical supervision.

You will be responsible for assessing and monitoring risk and drawing up appropriate risk management plans, and for implementing policies and procedures in your area of work. You will also be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of current developments in professional and clinical practice and of relevant legislation and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a highly specialist psychology service to people accessing Hillingdon OPMH services
  • Work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct
  • Provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate
  • Assess and monitor risk and draw up appropriate risk management plans
  • Implement policies and procedures in your area of work
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current developments in professional and clinical practice and of relevant legislation and policies

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent
  • Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Experience of working as a clinical specialist under supervision in the field of mental health of older people and dementia care
  • Completed training in clinical supervision
