We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Hillingdon Older People's Mental Health Services. As a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist, you will work across two service areas, our Memory Service and Oak Tree Ward, our Older Adult acute mental health unit.
Our well-established service works with people presenting with mental health needs, cognitive impairment, and very often, also living with physical health needs and frailty. If you are looking to progress your career in a supportive and fully structured learning environment, we would welcome applications from current 3rd year trainee clinical psychologists and registered psychologists as a band 7 for a preceptorship role to 8a.
We are also open to applications from HCPC registered psychologists looking for part-time roles in either the Memory Service or Oaktree ward.
Main Responsibilities- Provide a highly specialist psychology service to people accessing Hillingdon OPMH services, including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, and monitoring of outcomes.
- Provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a lead specialist in the mental health care of older people and people living with dementia.
- Work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.
In addition to working with a great service user population in a great location, you will be joining an active and thriving, CNWL wide community of psychological professionals. We offer great opportunities for development, learning, and training. We are keen to work with you to identify your individual professional development needs and goals and support access to the resources and opportunities needed to achieve these.
We also have a great network of psychological professionals working in older adult services, with more specific speciality based developmental opportunities and forums. In addition to these developmental opportunities, you will have access to high-quality supervision, a generous annual leave allowance, and a generous NHS pension. We offer a relocation package (subject to eligibility assessment) and flexible working options, including bank assignments for most roles.
See attached Staff Reward and Wellbeing Handbook detailing our benefits, discounts, and wellbeing initiatives for staff.
Person Specification- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent that has been accepted by the HCPC for purposes of professional registration.
- Additional training in a specialised area of psychological practice (e.g. a specific therapy approach, working with the mental health needs of older people, dementia care) through formal post-qualification training (PG Diploma or equivalent), OR a combination of specialist short courses, or an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice-based learning in a specialist area of clinical practice, assessed by an experienced clinical supervisor to be of equal level to a Postgraduate Diploma.
- Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC.
- Completed training course in clinical supervision.
