About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Data Engineer/ML-OPS Specialist to join our growing data practice at Lorien, a market-leading innovative energy renewables company. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial part in the design, development, and continuous improvement of our data engineering tools, workflows, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the overall Data Engineering Infrastructure
  • Contribute to the design, development, and improvement of data engineering tools, workflows, and processes
  • Communicate with the Software and Data Science teams
  • Integrate new data management technologies
  • Develop tooling and improve back testing frameworks
  • Orchestrate machine learning workflows
  • Centralize diverse datasets for analytics, visualization, and machine learning
  • Proficiency with Orchestration and IaC in AWS (e.g. Terraform, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Airflow), Git, containerization (Docker), database management (e.g. Postgres, Alembic)
  • Experience with monitoring frameworks (e.g. Prometheus)
  • Experience archiving data to Parquet on S3 and creating tools for API/Grafana queries

Requirements:

  • Strong experience as a Data Engineer
  • Extensive Python experience
  • Excellent data pipelining building experience
  • Familiarity with time-series forecasting and/or optimization
  • Experience with UK power markets is advantageous
