Defence and Security AI/ML Specialist

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Defence and Security team. As a key member of our Engineering and Machine Learning department, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering cutting-edge AI/ML solutions for our clients. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, collaborate with a talented team, and contribute to the growth and success of our company.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop AI/ML solutions that meet the needs of our clients in the Defence and Security sector.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Machine Learning Scientists, Product Managers, and Engineers, to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our solutions.
- Evaluate scientific concepts for viability of implementation and provide expert advice on ML techniques.
- Write maintainable production code and promote best practices for code quality in a scientific codebase.
- Attend client meetings and deliver training on core ML concepts and Mind Foundry products and solutions, as required.
- A Master's degree in a scientific discipline, such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field. A PhD/DPhil is highly valued but not essential for this role.
- Extensive experience in writing and maintaining code in a commercial environment.
- Proficiency in Python and experience working with ML or statistical methods.
- Ability to work with state-of-the-art ML libraries to deliver powerful results quickly.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with customers to develop, discover, and deliver services and products that meet their requirements.
- Experience handling large datasets and deploying ML into a production environment.
- Familiarity with the wider ML ecosystem and ability to communicate complex ideas at varying levels of depth.
- Experience with Git, Linux, and other version control systems.
- Ability to write and contribute to technical material, such as documentation and published papers.
