About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Oxa Autonomy. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in creating and curating datasets for training and evaluating our machine learning (ML) planner components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deploy state-of-the-art data pipelines for our ML models, ensuring seamless integration with our autonomous vehicle systems.
  • Design and implement metrics for model validation and continuous monitoring in production, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Leverage the Oxa Metadriver platform to generate synthetic data, train effective and robust driving policies, and optimize our ML models for real-world scenarios.
  • Build cloud-based tooling and infrastructure to support experimentation, evaluation, and deployment workflows, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create an environment that fosters collaboration, mutual understanding, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to hiring and onboarding new team members, including mentoring and developing junior engineers, to ensure a smooth transition and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Have 3+ years of professional experience developing behavioral machine learning technologies for autonomous vehicles or robotics.
  • Experience with production ML pipelines, including data creation and curation, training frameworks, and evaluation pipelines.
  • Fluency in Python and experience with data analysis libraries and packages.
  • Proven record of leading and delivering projects as part of a team, with a focus on data-driven decision making.
  • Effective technical communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • An appreciation for the role of safety, security, and ethics in AI, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hold a PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Have relevant publications or talks at industry conferences or in journals.
  • Familiarity with open benchmark datasets for autonomous vehicles, such as Waymo, nuScenes/nuPlan, Argoverse, Level 5, etc.
  • Experience developing and fielding autonomous systems, with a focus on data-driven decision making.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, with experience in deploying and managing large-scale data pipelines.
