Position Summary:

The Cloud Native Platform Engineer will play a pivotal role in enhancing and refining Asobbi's cloud-native offerings, ensuring the scalability, efficiency, and dependability of our AI and HPC services. This position requires close collaboration with senior engineers and cross-disciplinary teams to architect and execute robust solutions that address the dynamic needs of our global clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and enhancement of cloud-native applications and services utilizing Kubernetes and various container orchestration technologies.
  • Support the architecture, implementation, and expansion of Kubernetes for overseeing the lifecycle of both virtual and physical infrastructures.
  • Engage in the management of infrastructure, spanning from physical bare metal servers to virtualized environments.
  • Collaborate with AI researchers and data scientists to integrate and optimize AI/ML workflows.
  • Promote the adoption of best practices in cloud-native development, including CI/CD, microservices, and serverless architectures.
  • Contribute to open-source initiatives and incorporate open-source solutions into our platform.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using shell scripting and Python to streamline routine tasks and enhance system performance.
  • Work under the mentorship of senior engineers to monitor and enhance the performance and scalability of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Support product management and other stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to maintain Asobbi's competitive edge in cloud and AI advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development, focusing on cloud-native applications.
  • Proficiency in the Go programming language is preferred.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of managing the lifecycle of physical bare metal infrastructure is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems.
  • Basic familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their integration with cloud services is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the capacity to work effectively in a distributed team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in HPC environments and GPU orchestration is a plus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or an active presence in the developer community is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
