Position Summary:

The Cloud Native Platform Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing and refining the cloud-native offerings of Asobbi, ensuring that our AI and HPC services are scalable, efficient, and dependable. This position requires close collaboration with senior engineers and interdisciplinary teams to devise and execute robust solutions that address the dynamic requirements of our global clientele.

Key Duties:

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of cloud-native applications and services utilizing Kubernetes and various container orchestration technologies.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and extension of Kubernetes for managing both virtual and physical machine lifecycles.
  • Engage in the management of infrastructure, encompassing both physical bare metal servers and virtual machines.
  • Collaborate with AI researchers and data scientists to integrate and optimize AI/ML workflows effectively.
  • Promote the adoption of best practices in cloud-native development, including CI/CD, microservices, and serverless architectures.
  • Participate in open-source projects and incorporate open-source solutions into our platform.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using shell scripting and Python to enhance system efficiency.
  • Work under the mentorship of senior engineers to monitor and elevate the performance and scalability of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Support product management and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to keep Asobbi at the forefront of cloud and AI innovations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in software development, particularly focused on cloud-native applications.
  • Proficiency in the Go programming language is preferred.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration tools is essential.
  • Familiarity with managing the lifecycle of physical bare metal infrastructure is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their integration with cloud services is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with HPC environments and GPU orchestration is a plus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or an active presence in the developer community is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
