Position Summary:

The Cloud Native Platform Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing and optimizing Asobbi's cloud-native offerings, ensuring the scalability, performance, and dependability of our AI and HPC services. This position requires collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to design and implement robust solutions that align with the dynamic needs of our global clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and optimization of cloud-native applications and services utilizing Kubernetes and other container orchestration technologies.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and enhancement of Kubernetes for managing the lifecycle of both virtual and physical infrastructure.
  • Engage in the management of infrastructure, spanning from physical bare metal servers to virtual environments.
  • Collaborate with AI researchers and data scientists to integrate and enhance AI/ML workflows.
  • Promote the adoption of best practices in cloud-native development, including CI/CD, microservices, and serverless architectures.
  • Participate in open-source projects and incorporate open-source solutions into our platform.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using shell scripting and Python to streamline routine tasks and enhance system efficiency.
  • Work under the mentorship of senior engineers to monitor and enhance the performance and scalability of the cloud infrastructure.
  • Support product management and other stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to keep Asobbi at the forefront of cloud and AI advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in software development, focusing on cloud-native applications.
  • Proficiency in the Go programming language is preferred.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with managing the lifecycle of physical bare metal infrastructure is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their integration with cloud services is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with HPC environments and GPU orchestration is a plus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the developer community is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
