About the Role

The Diagnostic Cancer/Interventional Navigator role is a critical position within the Radiology department, ensuring the efficient flow of patients through the diagnostic process. This role is part of a pool of staff who cover all Radiology appointments for patients on a cancer pathway, supporting day working and achieving waiting time Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide support for bookings of all cancer patient pathways seen within Radiology, including inpatient, urgent, diagnostic, and treatment pathways.
  • Ensure day turnaround time for cancer patients and maintain accurate patient information on Radiology and Trust-wide information systems.
  • Work as part of a highly trained and experienced team, exercising initiative and prioritizing workloads while following Government and directorate set initiatives and policies.
  • Liaise with other departments and staff within the Trust and other Trusts involved in providing care and core services to ensure smooth and timely patient treatment progression.
  • Work as a 'buddy' to build up a working knowledge of processes and practices in all duties, providing basic level of cover when required.
