Position Overview

Are you a dedicated and empathetic professional in the field of palliative care, ready to significantly enhance the quality of life for patients and their families? Our organization is in search of an outstanding individual to become part of our multidisciplinary team, contributing their knowledge and skills to our esteemed facility. This role offers the opportunity to integrate clinical expertise with a strong commitment to comprehensive patient care.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with our healthcare partners and community services, building robust relationships to ensure uninterrupted care for our patients. By working alongside hospitals, general practitioners, and various healthcare professionals, you will help to establish a cohesive support network, improving the quality of care for individuals facing life-limiting conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight: Partner with our multidisciplinary team to provide holistic palliative care, addressing the diverse physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.

Training and Development: Collaborate with the Clinical & Education Teams to foster the advancement of clinical practices through educational initiatives. This includes evaluating clinical competencies and contributing to the formulation and revision of clinical policies and protocols.

Patient Interaction: Deliver direct care to patients and their families within our clinical settings, ensuring that the highest standards of care are upheld.

Quality Improvement: Participate in quality enhancement initiatives and clinical projects, advancing your professional journey while contributing to the ongoing enhancement of our services.

Effective Communication: Promote strong communication and collaboration within the multidisciplinary team and with external healthcare providers, ensuring a unified approach to patient care.

About Our Organization

Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care is a charitable organization focused on delivering palliative and end-of-life care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses. We also extend support to the caregivers and families of our patients.

This care is provided at no cost and is delivered within the community, including our inpatient unit and Wellbeing Centre. Our holistic approach addresses the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of our patients. Our multidisciplinary team consists of various healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurse practitioners, clinical specialists, and therapists.

We work in collaboration with local healthcare providers to deliver care that complements NHS services.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • GMC registration with a license to practice
  • On or within six months of being on the specialist register for Palliative Medicine
  • MRCP, MRCGP, or equivalent qualification
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Desirable:

  • Advanced qualifications in Palliative Medicine or related fields
  • Experience in clinical management
