About the Role

VSA is a well-established local social care charity, dedicated to providing exceptional support services to the people of Aberdeen.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Care Worker to join our dynamic team at Ruthrieston House, a 40-bed residential care home in Aberdeen city.

As a Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for our service users, promoting their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate Effectively: Engage with service users, their families, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Provide Personal Care: Assist with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and medication management, while promoting dignity and respect.
  • Support Independence: Encourage service users to develop skills and knowledge to live independently, with reference to risk assessments and care plans.
  • Develop Relationships: Build strong relationships with service users, their families, and colleagues to create a positive and supportive environment.
  • Participate in Training: Engage in ongoing training and development activities to enhance your knowledge and skills, ensuring you remain up-to-date with best practices in social care.
Requirements
  • SCQF Level 6 (SVQ2) in Social Services and Healthcare: You must be willing to undertake this qualification if you do not already hold it.
  • Experience in Support Work: While prior experience is welcome, it is not essential. We provide comprehensive training to ensure you have the skills and knowledge required for this role.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: You must be able to work a variety of shifts, including early and late shifts, and be willing to adapt to changing circumstances.
