Regional Safety Advisor

We're seeking an experienced professional to join Marston's as a Regional Safety Advisor. This role will provide expert support to operations on all safety-related matters, ensuring that Marston's conducts its operations in a safe and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate, clear, and relevant expert advice and support to ensure compliance with company policies, legislative requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Actively promote a positive safety management culture within Marston's and the ownership of safety by teams in all areas of the business operation.
  • Support Area Operations Managers, General Managers, and Pub Partners on an advisory basis on safety and related matters, including food safety, health and safety, licensing, and incident/crisis management.
  • Share best practices and promote positive safety management at Area and Regional meetings/days in trade with Area and Regional Managers.
  • Support and coach pubs that receive an EHO Food Hygiene Rating of less than 5 and those that fail the safety audit to support and coach the pub team with the corrective action plan and determine if the pub presents an ongoing risk to the business.
  • Carry out accident/incident investigations for high-risk RIDDOR reportable incidents, liaise with enforcement officers, and investigate insurance claims as directed by the Director of Safety.
  • Carry out investigations where multiple food poisoning allegations are received, liaise with enforcement officers as directed by the Head of Technical Services – Food & Drink.
  • Ensure that any unsafe act, condition, or situation that could compromise the business is immediately escalated to the Director of Safety.
Requirements:
  • Commercial in outlook and understands the current business challenges within the industry.
  • Ability to project a professional positive presence and an appropriate level of credibility.
  • Flexibility to travel. Full driving license.
  • Car allowance of £7,500 per annum.
