About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Regional Safety Advisor to join our team at Marston's PLC. As a Regional Safety Advisor, you will provide expert support to operations on all safety-related matters, working closely with our Director of Safety and other RSAs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advisory support to Area Operations Managers, General Managers, and Pub Partners on safety and related matters, including food safety, health and safety, licensing, and incident/crisis management.
  • Support Area Operations Managers, General Managers, and Pub Partners in liaison with enforcement authorities, such as Environmental Health Officers.
  • Share best practices and promote positive safety management at Area and Regional meetings and days in trade with Area and Regional Managers.
  • Support and coach pubs that receive an EHO Food Hygiene Rating of less than 5, liaising with EHO, AOM, GM, or Operator and other support teams until a satisfactory re-rating inspection has been achieved.
  • Support and coach pubs that fail the safety audit, helping the pub team with the corrective action plan and determining if the pub presents an ongoing risk to the business.
  • Carry out accident/incident investigations for high-risk RIDDOR reportable incidents, liaising with enforcement officers and investigating insurance claims as directed by the Director of Safety.
  • Carry out investigations where multiple food poisoning allegations are received, liaising with enforcement officers as directed by the Head of Technical Services – Food & Drink.
  • Ensure that any unsafe act, condition, or situation that could compromise the business is immediately escalated to the Director of Safety.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in multi-site catering/retail.
  • Previous experience of franchise-style operations would be an advantage.
  • Commercial in outlook and understands the current business challenges within the industry.
  • Ability to influence at all levels, both informally and within more formal environments.
  • Ability to project a professional, positive presence and an appropriate level of credibility.
  • Eager to undertake personal development, including knowledge of health and safety and food safety.
  • Flexibility to travel, with a full driving license.
  • Enthusiastic with a solution-focused attitude.
