Job Overview

The Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their team as a Medical Staffing Coordinator. This is a critical role in the running of the service, and the ideal candidate will have experience in medical rota co-ordination.

Main Responsibilities

As a Medical Staffing Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the main point of contact for medical rostering for junior doctors and other key stakeholders.
  • Providing administrative support to the General Manager, Service Manager, Clinical Care Group Director, Clinical Director, and Specialty Leads in managing medical staffing.
  • Providing accurate and timely information related to medical staff management, including compliance with New Deal requirements, appraisals, and monitoring leave.
  • Working closely with the Clinical Director and General Manager to develop processes to support junior doctors on all issues relating to their employment within BHRUT.
  • Managing and co-ordinating annual and study leave, ensuring that medical locum usage is minimised, but where required, this is anticipated and covered.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education to degree level standard or equivalent training and experience in medical rota co-ordination in an NHS setting.
  • Previous experience working in medical staffing is desirable.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to manage and resolve complex staffing issues using their own initiative.
