The University of York is seeking a Senior Research Fellow (Trials) within the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research Support Service (RSS) Hub at York Trials Unit (YTU) to lead groundbreaking research in health and care.
About Our Research Unit
York Trials Unit (YTU) is a renowned UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) registered trials unit, specializing in conducting randomised controlled trials of complex interventions. We offer comprehensive support, advice, and collaboration to researchers across England through the NIHR RSS.
The Role
The Senior Research Fellow will be responsible for spearheading the design and implementation of efficient and inclusive trials, with a focus on complex interventions. They will lead the development of best practices, collaborate with health and care practitioners, and drive innovation in trial efficiency and inclusivity.

- Qualifications and Skills
- Academic qualifications: PhD in a relevant health research area or an MSc with equivalent experience.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of trial design and delivery, efficient methods and approaches, and inclusive research practices.
- Funding: Demonstrated experience in securing significant external research funding.
- Impactful Research: Strong track record of high-quality, impactful research outputs.
- Collaboration: Experience integrating patient and public involvement in research.
