Job Title: PhD Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PhD Research Scientist to join our team at Phasecraft. As a key member of our research team, you will play a crucial role in developing the mathematical foundations for quantum computing applications that solve real-world problems.

About the Role

As a PhD Research Scientist, you will be responsible for undertaking theoretical and/or applied research on near-term quantum computing algorithms, applications, and/or enabling theoretical technologies. You will work collaboratively in a small team made up of full-time staff and affiliated PhD students to advance our understanding of quantum computing and its applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on near-term quantum computing algorithms, applications, and/or enabling theoretical technologies.
  • Collaborate with the research team to advance our understanding of quantum computing and its applications.
  • Help to author publications, presentations, patent applications, and similar resulting from the research.
  • Work independently on research projects and contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches.
  • PhD (or soon to receive one) in quantum information, quantum computation theory, theoretical computer science, theoretical physics, or closely related field.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work across different aspects of quantum software and underpinning theory.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and novel research.
