Job Summary:
Phasecraft is seeking a highly skilled Quantum Computing Research Scientist to join our team. As a Research Scientist, you will play a key role in developing the mathematical foundations for quantum computing applications that solve real-world problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake theoretical and/or applied research on near-term quantum computing algorithms, applications, and/or enabling theoretical technologies.
- Contribute to the development of quantum algorithms for near-term quantum computers, encompassing topics such as algorithm optimization and design, quantum codes, resource analysis, error mitigation, and hardware benchmarking.
- Collaborate with our team to author publications, presentations, patent applications, and similar resulting from the research.
- Work collaboratively in a small team made up of full-time staff and affiliated PhD students.
- PhD (or soon to receive one) in quantum information, quantum computation theory, theoretical computer science, theoretical physics, or closely related field.
- Ability to work independently on research projects and to work in a team.
- Flexibility to work across different aspects of quantum software and underpinning theory.
- Enthusiasm for learning and novel research.
