About Phasecraft

Role Overview
We are seeking a Quantum Algorithms Scientist who possesses a strong background in optimization algorithms tailored for gate-model quantum computers, or a broader understanding of quantum algorithms. The selected candidate will initially concentrate on this area while having the opportunity to expand their research portfolio across various interests within Phasecraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct theoretical and/or applied research and/or software development focused on near-term quantum computing applications, particularly in quantum algorithms and software for combinatorial optimization and constraint satisfaction challenges.
- Contribute to the authorship of publications, presentations, patent applications, and other outputs stemming from research efforts.
- Collaborate effectively within a small team comprising full-time staff and affiliated PhD candidates.
- Engage in additional activities that support the advancement and success of Phasecraft.
Essential Qualifications
- Proficiency in one or more of the following areas:
• Quantum information and/or computation theory
• Theory and/or implementation of classical algorithms for optimization or constraint satisfaction
• Quantum algorithm design and/or implementation
• Mathematical analysis of algorithms - Capability to independently manage research projects while also contributing to team efforts.
- Willingness to engage with various aspects of quantum software and its foundational theories.
Desirable Qualifications
- PhD (or nearing completion) in quantum information, quantum computation theory, theoretical computer science, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in coding within quantum software development environments (e.g., Cirq, QuEST, Qiskit).
- Background in implementing algorithms on quantum hardware.
- Strong publication record in relevant fields.
- Software development expertise.
- A passion for learning and engaging in innovative research.
- Exceptional communication abilities.
