Position Summary

Barker Associates is a distinguished, multi-disciplinary property consultancy recognized for its excellence, providing a range of services including Architecture, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, and Building Surveying to a diverse clientele across the UK.

We are currently seeking a SENIOR CIVIL TECHNICIAN who is eager to advance their career by working on a variety of projects throughout the UK. This position will be based at our Head Office, with the opportunity for hybrid working arrangements following the completion of the induction process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients to achieve long-term objectives.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Line Manager in their absence, as required.
  • Prepare preliminary civil engineering designs for review by the Line Manager.
  • Create detailed technical designs utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Hydraulic Modelling.
  • Evaluate detailed technical submissions and Requests for Information (RFIs) from subcontractors.
  • Organize and submit technical documentation and drawings for final approval.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree or apprenticeship coupled with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
  • Progression towards corporate membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
