Operations Manager

Location: Slough

Salary: £60,000-£68,000

Working Hours: 35 per week

Workforce Staffing Ltd is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our site operations in Slough. As a prominent player in the heavy machinery and engineering sector, we are looking for a candidate with substantial industry expertise to enhance our operational effectiveness.

Role Overview:

  • To oversee the complete operations of the site, ensuring maximum efficiency and profitability to meet established targets.
  • To facilitate communication between clients and support services promptly, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • To plan and manage the budget for site operations, adhering to the approved financial framework.
  • To uphold the company's Health and Safety standards at the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead team performance to achieve revenue and service agreement sales targets.
  • Monitor work in progress (WIP) to ensure compliance with set targets.
  • Authorize and manage the engagement of suppliers and subcontractors to optimize costs and quality of work.
  • Ensure labor utilization aligns with targets and that service jobs are managed efficiently.
  • Guarantee that warranty recovery claims meet or exceed job costs.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies within a specified timeframe, adhering to established authorization levels.
  • Address any health and safety or environmental concerns at the site, reporting issues as necessary.
  • Promote effective housekeeping practices to maintain a safe and organized working environment.
  • Conduct regular visits to clients as the representative of the company, overseeing site operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to prevent or resolve customer disputes.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications:

  • In-depth industry and product knowledge.
  • Proven experience in managing diverse, field-based teams.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Strong people management skills with experience in handling employee relations.
  • Proficient in building effective relationships both internally and externally.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving objectives.
  • Quick-thinking problem solver.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • IOSH Health and Safety certification.
  • Experience in coaching and developing team members.
