Role: Assistant Project Coordinator

Due to ongoing success and a strategic growth initiative, they are looking to add a motivated and proactive Assistant Project Coordinator to their dynamic project management team.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will likely be an early-career project professional based in the Derby area, currently overseeing smaller projects and eager to take on larger, more complex assignments with comprehensive support and structured training.

Essential qualifications include:

  • A keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong communication abilities to foster relationships with clients, suppliers, and team members.
  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline such as electrical, electronics, or controls.
  • A valid UK driving license.
Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Project Coordinator, your core duties will encompass:

  • Overseeing the delivery of small-scale projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and timelines while meeting specified objectives.
  • Developing project schedules and managing timelines for engineering resources and materials.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive risk register and proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues.
  • Conducting financial reporting, including monitoring costs and forecasting expenditures for labor and materials, as well as preparing estimates for contract modifications.
  • Facilitating project meetings, both internally and with clients, while collaborating with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.
  • Supervising internal project engineers and managing the supply chain.
  • Handling contract management for any changes in requirements, costs, timelines, and unforeseen circumstances, primarily utilizing NEC contract processes.
