Positive Employment is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Commissioning Consultant to join our client, a local government organisation based in Bedford.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of the Adults' Service Commissioning Delivery Plan.

This is an initial 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. The role will involve hybrid working, with 1-2 days per week in the office required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a Commissioning Board to set priorities, consolidate workstreams, and oversee commissioning activities.
  • Develop a care home framework and DPS, working closely with care providers to refresh the Market Position Statement.
  • Review market management approaches and consider the formation of a provider forum or other means of structured communication with the social care market.
  • Support the Commissioning service redesign to build capacity and capability across the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Local authority Adults' Services Head of Service or above, with experience in delivering similar commissioning changes.
  • Demonstrable track record of implementing market position statements and commissioning strategies.
