Position Overview:
Are you an enthusiastic and proactive Lead Ecological Consultant eager to influence ecological practices and adaptive management, including species and habitat assessments?

Executive Network Group is seeking a Lead Ecological Consultant to join a prominent construction firm, recognized for its innovative projects across the UK and Europe.

Your role will involve overseeing and managing a dedicated team of ecological specialists, as well as directing ecological mitigation initiatives to facilitate construction operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and supporting the execution of ecological method statements and related documentation for construction projects.
  • Supervising and ensuring thorough on-site ecological assessments, desk-based evaluations, and surveys to determine ecological mitigation needs for construction.
  • Providing practical support and guidance to construction teams, environmental managers, and subcontractors to meet ecological mitigation objectives in accordance with technical and legal standards.
  • Identifying and implementing effective, cost-efficient solutions to ecological challenges encountered by construction teams and subcontractors.
  • Adhering to company protocols and documentation standards, maintaining necessary records and supporting audits as required.
  • Conducting inspections, implementing oversight, and providing on-site assistance for construction activities.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders, including design teams and contractors, as necessary.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven project management expertise and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in ecological management and mitigation for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Valid UK driver's license and willingness to travel.
  • Solid understanding of environmental management practices for construction sites.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the utilities, construction, and engineering sectors.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and GIS.
  • Significant experience in ecological consultancy within large infrastructure and highway projects.
  • Experience in liaising with regulatory bodies regarding species licenses.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve optimal project outcomes.
  • Commitment to completing tasks with excellent planning and execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of ecological practices and conservation efforts.
  • A genuine passion for ecology.
