About the Role

The Data Center team at Google designs and operates sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and HVAC systems. As a Senior Data Center Facilities Technician, you will operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions for our data centers.

You will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various data center systems, including electrical distribution and control systems. You will also provide daily assistance to technicians, read blueprints and schematics, conduct tours of systems, and assess their working order.

Additionally, you will manage the uptime and maintenance of UPS, generators, electrical distribution, and control and monitoring systems. You will operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment.

You will also support startup, commissioning, and integration of new electrical equipment and systems into facilities infrastructure.

As a member of the Technical Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring that environmental and safety standards are consistently met, identifying problems, and making repairs quickly. In emergency situations or abnormal conditions, you will manage data center performance issues and outages to minimize the recovery time from failures.

You will work closely with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data center systems.
