Job Title: Data Center Shift Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Shift Technician to join our team at CBRE. As a Data Center Shift Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data center facilities, including performing daily walk rounds, completing preventative maintenance tasks, and responding to emergency breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily walk rounds to confirm the healthy status of all plant and equipment.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical systems to adhere to set engineering standards.
  • Undertake site inductions and ensure that all visitors and subcontractors have the necessary permits and approvals before commencing work.
  • Escort visitors and subcontractors on site as required.
  • Execute maintenance tasks in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Respond to reactive installation works and emergency breakdowns.
  • Carry out fault finding and plant adjustments.
  • Conduct weekly testing of all safety systems as directed.
  • Perform plant room inspections and cleaning as per site schedule.
  • Assist with the monitoring of BMS Trend alarms for EMEA and APAC when the BMS Operative is unavailable.
  • Monitor energy consumption and record readings where applicable.
  • Adhere to all site safety and security procedures.
  • Carry out checks and inspections of electrical/mechanical services, plant, and systems.
  • Take weekly load readings and download them onto the client drive.
  • Update the client SDSK prior to any works taking place.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to facilitate continuous improvement to site, plant, and equipment standards.
  • Provide holiday cover to the team to assist each engineer in taking their full annual allowance.

Person Specification:

  • Education: M&E background essential with C&G or equivalent qualifications. Apprenticeship preferred.
  • Training: Knowledge and experience with HV, Water treatment, WAH, PTW, Risk assessment, LOTO, preferable.
