Job Role: Teaching Assistant

Visa Sponsorship: Visas cannot be sponsored

Key Stage: Early years

Working Pattern: Part time: 13 hours per week, 08:30am - 15:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break (Thursday & Friday), 38 weeks of the year, term time plus inset days

Contract Type: Permanent

Actual Salary: Salary: Band B Point £7, £8,023.98 per annum actual salary

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist with the planning of learning activities by identifying and preparing resources required to support lesson plans.
  • Supervise children delivering learning activities to small groups/whole classes of pupils, adjusting activities within the scope of the Curriculum in response to pupils' learning.
  • Communicate effectively and work in partnership with parents and other professionals, and respect confidentiality when appropriate.
  • Work with a group of children and maintain accurate developmental records.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Work within all nursery policies and procedures, including administration and recording of first aid.
  • Ensure the nursery environment and resources are safe and clean in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • The ability to communicate with other members of staff effectively.
  • The ability to build a strong professional relationship with the children and their families.
  • A willingness to take part in class planning and adapt it to the needs of the child where applicable.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to communicate with parents and to attend professional meetings where required.
  • Good record keeping skills (Progress and medical where required).
  • Personal care.
  • A passion for the impact teaching and learning can have on improving life.
  • A commitment to delivering education of the highest standard.
  • Achievement of GCSE's (or equivalent) at grade 4-9.
  • A CACHE Level 3 qualification.
