Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individualised support to students with special educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs: You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to understand the specific needs of students and develop strategies to support their learning.
  • Implementing Educational Plans: You will implement and adapt educational plans to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring they receive the support they require to succeed.
  • Providing One-on-One Support: You will provide one-on-one support to students during lessons and activities, helping them to build confidence and develop their skills.
  • Fostering Positive Relationships: You will foster positive relationships with students, promoting their well-being and engagement in their learning.
  • Collaborating with Professionals: You will work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure a holistic support system for students.
  • Supporting the School Environment: You will contribute to the overall positive and inclusive atmosphere of the school, promoting a culture of respect and support for all students.

Requirements:

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, particularly in providing one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, is advantageous.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Patience and Adaptability: You will need to be patient and adaptable, with a genuine passion for supporting individual student success.
  • Initiative and Collaboration: You will need to demonstrate initiative and a willingness to collaborate with the teaching team to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
