GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Professional to join a co-educational secondary school. As a Learning Support Professional, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential and succeed in their studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons to secondary students.
  • Offer 1:1 or small group support to students who require additional academic assistance.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning.
  • Support students with diverse learning needs, including SEMH, ASC, MLD, and ADHD.
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and staff.
  • Implement strategies to manage student behavior and uphold the school's behavior management policy.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning and review of student support plans.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Understanding of the secondary school curriculum and pedagogical approaches.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or youth work are highly valued (though not mandatory).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting student growth and development.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
