Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Device Repair Specialist to join our team at our main device repair facility in Northampton. As a Surgical Instrument Technician, you'll work on the repair, refurbishment, and restoration of Endoscopes, ensuring high-quality results and meeting strict specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive training on all hospital instrument models.
  • Develop expertise in essential form and functionality, as well as basic repair techniques.
  • Accurately examine, test, and troubleshoot equipment/tools for defects and issues.
  • Determine the best course of service or repair to renew and restore devices to working order.
  • Work with various equipment and machinery, including microscopes, grinders, sanders, soldering irons, and sharpeners/polishers.
  • Repair casings, flex tubing, circuitry, electronics, camera lens, and machined parts.
  • Adhere to and ensure health and safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Support ISO goals and objectives and ensure conformance to ISO requirements in the assigned repair lab area(s).
  • Participate in the company's lean philosophy of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • English language proficiency.
  • Minimum 1 year of overall work experience.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and ability to handle small parts and equipment.
  • Precision use of hands with full range of hand manipulation or dexterity.
  • Attention to detail and ability to notice small things.
  • Comfortability with repetitive tasks and ability to follow strict procedures and processes.
  • Desire and willingness to ensure quality work is carried out.
