Position Overview

The Ministry of Defence Guard Service (MGS) is seeking dedicated individuals to safeguard Defence establishments from various threats, including crime and terrorism. This role is essential in delivering top-tier security services characterized by professionalism and trust.

Role Responsibilities

As a Security Officer, you will play a pivotal role in our esteemed security team, ensuring the safety and security of Defence personnel and property. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and patrolling designated areas to ensure compliance with security protocols.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential security risks.
  • Controlling access to facilities, verifying credentials, and issuing passes.
  • Conducting searches of vehicles and personnel as necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate logs of incidents and daily activities.
  • Responding promptly to emergencies and escalating situations to law enforcement when required.
  • Operating security systems, including CCTV and alarms.

Work Schedule

This position involves shift work, totaling 48 hours per week, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility in scheduling is required, with shifts communicated in advance but subject to change with appropriate notice.

Qualifications and Skills

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent teamwork, and outstanding communication skills. Previous experience in security or related fields is advantageous.
