Job Summary

Scope is a leading disability equality charity in the United Kingdom, working towards a society where all disabled people enjoy equality and fairness. We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Advisor to join our dynamic Policy and Campaigns team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support Scope's policy and influencing work, driving policy changes that empower disabled people to enter and thrive in the workforce. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of policy initiatives to improve employment opportunities for disabled people.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, including government officials, employers, and disability organizations, to advocate for disability equality.
  • Conducting research and analysis to inform policy decisions and recommendations.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to advance Scope's policy agenda.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A good understanding of how Whitehall and Westminster work, and the ability to create change.
  • Knowledge of government policy-making processes and the role of research in informing policy decisions.
  • Experience of working in a large organization, with a collaborative approach that works for different audiences.
  • Passion for disability equality and understanding of the challenges faced by disabled people.
  • Experience of working with people from marginalized backgrounds is an advantage.
