About the Role

The HM Treasury is seeking a highly skilled Policy Advisor to join its team. As a Policy Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the government's shareholding in NatWest, one of the largest banks in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of policies related to the government's shareholding in NatWest.
  • Work closely with senior officials and ministers to develop and agree on disposal options for the government's shareholding.
  • Coordinate and manage the process of preparing and implementing sale options for the government's shareholding.
  • Advise ministers on issues related to the management of the shareholding and the intervention in the bank.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues across the Civil Service and public sector, and with external advisers and other organizations from the private sector.
  • Provide clear advice and briefings to the Treasury Accounting Officer and ministers on issues related to the NatWest shareholding.
  • Prepare for fiscal events, working with colleagues across the Treasury and at the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) to produce forecasts for sales of the government's financial assets.

Requirements:
