Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child Employment Officer to join our Virtual School's Employment Support team. The successful candidate will provide careers support and guidance to care-experienced young people aged 12-25 across Lancashire, helping them to achieve their education, employment, or training goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality careers advice and guidance to young people in schools and other settings
  • Work with a caseload of care-experienced young people to identify their career aspirations and develop personalized support plans
  • Collaborate with schools, employers, and other stakeholders to provide employment opportunities and support for young people
  • Conduct outreach work to engage with young people and provide support in their own homes or communities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers to secure job opportunities for young people
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of careers support and make recommendations for improvement
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience of working with vulnerable young people and delivering careers support
  • Knowledge of the needs of care-experienced young people and the challenges they face
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel across Lancashire
  • Knowledge of the local education and employment landscape
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
