About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at Optamor. As a key member of our Vehicle Electrification Team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of high voltage powertrain systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and take ownership of system requirements, including collating and understanding inputs from various sources.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand and mitigate key deltas to cascaded and inherited specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful vehicle programs.
  • Analyze and understand high voltage control strategies to be implemented in specific vehicle systems.
  • Document and define strategies and concepts relating to high voltage energy management.
  • Develop design verification plans for high voltage powertrain systems.
  • Support architecture development and definition on future projects.
  • Develop and take ownership of relevant High Voltage Powertrain System FMEA.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in delivering high voltage electric powertrain systems within an automotive engineering environment.
  • Experience in developing System FMEA and DFMEA.
  • Understanding of high voltage architectures and underlying principles and technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver vehicle programs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the V-Cycle and its application in an automotive environment.
  • Articulate, self-motivated, and able to work well on own initiative.
  • Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours engineering degree.
  • High Voltage training to Senior Authorised Person or IMI Level 4 preferred.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
  • No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
