Job Overview

Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Children's Therapy Team as a Therapy Assistant Apprentice, working alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and therapy assistants to provide therapy for children and young people in various settings, including hospitals and community environments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work alongside therapists in the management of shared patients, completing joint assessments and independently managing patient caseloads.
  • Develop strong communication and time management skills, prioritizing patient needs and working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality.
  • Utilize computer systems to access patient details and order equipment.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • 2 GCSEs grade 'C' or above, or equivalent, including English language and Maths
  • IT skills
  • Commitment to work towards completion of the Advanced Senior Health Care Support Worker Apprenticeship over 27 months

Desirable Criteria

  • Nationally recognized training courses relevant to the post

Experience

  • Experience working as part of a team

  • Experience working in acute, outpatient, or community settings
  • Experience working as a Physiotherapy/OT Assistant
