Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced occupational therapist to join our established Orthopaedic Therapy Services Team at Doncaster Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a Physiotherapy team lead and support the occupational therapy team manager. As a clinical lead, you will provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff and assistants.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the clinical management of complex orthopaedic discharges, ensuring patient flow and efficient service delivery.
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff and assistants, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Support the education and development of therapy staff and students, as well as the wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • Lead audit, identify, and lead research and quality improvement opportunities, including service review and evaluation.
  • Coordinate the operational management of the service, ensuring alignment with Trust goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with HCPC
  • Evidence of relevant clinical and postgraduate courses/CPD
  • Leadership Development Programmes
  • Portfolio evidence of reflective practice and relevant experience
  • Evidence of advanced specialist clinical knowledge
  • Knowledge of professional roles within MDT
  • Knowledge of all relevant clinical guidelines/professional standards and clinical governance requirements
  • IT skills
Desirable Criteria
  • Relevant M Level postgraduate modules
  • Audit/research courses
  • Postgraduate Management Modules
  • Member of relevant professional body
Experience
  • Significant postgraduate experience at Band 6 level in a range of specialities, including Orthopaedics
  • Experience in change management

  • Experience in the management and support of patients/carers with complex problems within this care group
