About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our team as a Band 5 Midwifery Clinical Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our newly qualified midwives, providing guidance, support, and leadership to help them develop their clinical skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical expertise and specialist advice to support the training and development of newly qualified midwives.
  • Lead and support the development of clinical competencies for midwives at all levels, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Maternity Workforce Matron to create a safe learning environment that encourages and enables newly qualified midwives to grow and flourish.
  • Support the recruitment and induction of new starters, ensuring a smooth transition into the team.
  • Act as a role model, promoting inclusive and compassionate leadership, and demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning.
Requirements
  • 2 years post-Band 5 experience.
  • Medicines management completion.
  • Ability to work clinically on antenatal/postnatal wards and labour suite.
  • Ability to work days, nights, and weekends, managing your diary effectively and flexibly.
