About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our team as a Band 5 Student Midwife Clinical Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our newly qualified midwives, providing guidance and support as they transition from student to midwife.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical expertise and specialist advice to support the training and development of newly qualified midwives.
  • Lead and support the development of clinical competencies for midwives at all levels, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
  • Act as a role model and accessible support to staff members, promoting collaborative multi-disciplinary working.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of individual staff members' development and progress throughout their preceptorship programme.
  • Support the recruitment and induction of new starters, working in collaboration with the maternity workforce team.
Requirements
  • 2 years post-Band 5 experience.
  • Medicines management completion.
  • Ability to work clinically on the antenatal/postnatal wards and labour suite.
  • Ability to work days, nights, and weekends, managing your diary effectively and flexibly.
