Role Summary:

In the role of Key Stage 2 Classroom Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in aiding the academic and personal development of students in Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11). Collaborating closely with classroom teachers, you will assist in implementing a comprehensive curriculum, providing tailored support to individual learners, and helping to cultivate a positive and engaging educational atmosphere.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum, including core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science.
  • Provide individualized and small group assistance to students, aiding them in their academic pursuits and comprehension of essential concepts.
  • Prepare educational materials and resources to enrich learning experiences.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback, collaborating with teachers to customize support based on individual needs.
  • Encourage positive behavior and a growth mindset among students, fostering an inclusive and motivating environment.
  • Supervise and assist students during recreational periods, lunch, and other school activities.
  • Work in partnership with teachers and staff to ensure the well-being and academic success of all students.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational context.
  • A solid understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and the developmental needs of older primary students.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting children's growth.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or child development are advantageous.

All compensation rates include statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for permanent placement in the future.
