Role Summary:
In the capacity of a Key Stage 2 Educational Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in fostering both the academic and personal development of students within Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11). Collaborating closely with classroom educators, you will assist in implementing a comprehensive curriculum, providing tailored support to individual learners, and helping to cultivate a positive and stimulating educational atmosphere.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist educators in delivering lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum, encompassing subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and more.
- Provide individualized and small group assistance to students, aiding them in their academic pursuits and comprehension of essential concepts.
- Prepare classroom materials and resources to enrich the learning experience.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, offering constructive feedback and collaborating with teachers to customize support for individual needs.
- Promote positive behavior and a growth mindset among students, fostering an inclusive and motivating environment.
- Supervise and support students during recreational periods, meal times, and various school activities.
- Work in partnership with educators and staff to ensure the well-being and academic achievement of all students.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational context.
- A solid understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and the requirements of older primary students.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting children's growth.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or child development are advantageous.
