Key Stage 2 Educational Support Assistant

Location: Primary School in Preston

Position: Full-Time Key Stage 2 Educational Support Assistant

Hours: 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour

Role Overview:

In the capacity of a Key Stage 2 Educational Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in aiding the academic and personal development of children in Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11). Collaborating closely with class educators, you will assist in delivering a comprehensive and balanced curriculum, providing support to individual students, and helping to cultivate a positive and stimulating learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist class educators in implementing lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum, including subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and more.
  • Provide individualized and small group support to students, aiding them in their academic tasks and comprehension of essential concepts.
  • Prepare classroom materials and resources to enrich learning experiences.
  • Monitor and evaluate students' progress, offering feedback and collaborating with teachers to customize support to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviors and a growth mindset among students, fostering an inclusive and motivating environment.
  • Supervise and assist students during recreational periods, meal times, and other school activities.
  • Work collaboratively with educators and staff to ensure the well-being and academic success of all students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational context.
  • A solid understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and the needs of older primary students.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting children's development.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or child development are advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of a permanent role becoming available later.
