Job Title: Facade Designer

Elk Recruitment is seeking a skilled Facade Designer to join our client's team in Hampshire. As a Facade Designer, you will work closely with the Technical team to produce drawings that meet the necessary requirements for each project.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review Architect's drawings and propose design solutions that meet the project's requirements.
  2. Assist in estimating and providing design solutions at the enquiry stage.
  3. Prepare fabrication drawings and cutting lists for the project.
  4. Collaborate with the Contracts Manager to agree on the design and procurement programme.
  5. Visit sites as required to assist with contract and site management.
  6. Stay up-to-date with product and system developments to ensure the best design solutions.
  7. Ensure economical design and standardisation of details to achieve the best use of available resources.
  8. Prepare approval drawings and achieve approved status.
  9. Prepare material schedules and send out purchase requisitions.
  10. Liaise with consultants to ensure a smooth project execution.
  11. Prepare Design Safety Risk Assessments and installation drawings/instructions.
  12. Resolve technical difficulties and cooperate with the preparation of valuations.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.
  2. Must have experience in Rainscreen design and development.
  3. Portfolio to illustrate previous work and experience.
  4. Strong technical and interpersonal skills.
  5. Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit is essential.
  6. Technically competent and able to plan/schedule projects effectively.
  7. Monitoring and supervision of junior staff.
