Senior Dose and Shielding Consultant

Total Resourcing Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Dose and Shielding Consultant to join our growing team of experts. In this role, you will provide essential technical support to clients and projects, ensuring the highest standards of radiation safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead dose and shielding projects, providing expert guidance and direction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Offer in-depth expertise in dose and shielding safety assessments, staying abreast of the latest methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to address complex safety challenges and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
  • Identify new business opportunities and provide technical support for bids, showcasing your deep understanding of radiation protection principles.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery, adhering to strict deadlines and exceeding client expectations.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive asset management plans, monitoring performance and ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
  • Mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster their professional growth and development.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of radiation protection processes within the organization.
  • Be prepared for occasional travel to client sites to provide on-site support and guidance.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific or engineering discipline, with a strong focus on radiation protection or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in radiation shielding and dose assessment within the nuclear industry.
  • Proficiency in using advanced radiation transport-based codes such as MCNP, Attila, and others.
  • Demonstrated expertise in dose and shielding safety assessments, with a working knowledge of cutting-edge techniques and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with nuclear criticality principles and practices.
  • 'SC' UK Security Clearance or the willingness to obtain it.
