Job Summary

Total Resourcing Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Dose and Shielding Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our Radiation Protection team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to clients and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead dose and shielding projects, providing technical leadership and guidance to team members
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of radiation safety assessment methodologies and approaches, staying up-to-date with industry developments
  • Provide radiation protection support to multi-disciplinary teams, addressing complex safety challenges and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Contribute to the development of asset management plans and monitor performance, ensuring high-quality delivery and timely completion of projects
  • Support the delivery of complex projects, contributing to the direction and development of junior team members
  • Enhance radiation protection, safety processes, and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Travel between offices and client sites may be required, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

Requirements

Total Resourcing Ltd values diversity and encourages applications from candidates with transferable skills. While there are no minimum requirements, the following qualifications and experience are preferred:

  • Relevant degree in a scientific or engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in radiation shielding and dose assessment within the nuclear industry
  • Extensive experience in the application of radiation transport-based codes, such as MCNP, Attila, ADVANTG, MCBEND, FLUKA, and Microshield
  • Good knowledge of radiation safety assessment techniques and advanced assessment methods
  • A working knowledge of nuclear criticality would be beneficial
  • Hold a minimum of 'SC' UK Security Clearance, or be willing to obtain
