Job Title: Senior Dose and Shielding Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Dose and Shielding Consultant to join our team at Total Resourcing Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in dose and shielding safety assessment, including staying up-to-date with the latest developments in methodology and approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage dose and shielding projects, as well as provide technical leadership in other projects
  • Provide expert knowledge of dose and shielding safety assessment, including being up-to-date with developments in methodology and approach
  • Support multi-disciplinary teams addressing various safety challenges, providing dose and shielding expertise
  • Identify and develop new opportunities for the team, including technical support to bids
  • Work closely with the team to ensure high-quality delivery and timely completion of projects
  • Develop asset management plans and monitor performance
  • Support delivery and contribute to the direction of junior team members on complex projects
  • Contribute to the enhancement of radiation protection, safety processes, and procedures
  • Some travel between offices and clients' sites may be required
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree in a relevant scientific or engineering technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in radiation shielding and dose assessment within the nuclear industry
  • Extensive experience in the application of radiation transport-based codes such as MCNP, Attila, ADVANTG, MCBEND, FLUKA, and Microshield, etc.
  • Good level of knowledge in the specialist field of dose and shielding safety assessment, with some knowledge of advanced assessment techniques
  • A working knowledge of aspects of nuclear Criticality would be beneficial
  • Hold a minimum of 'SC' UK Security Clearance, or be willing to obtain
