Position Overview

The Senior Dose and Shielding Consultant will deliver expert technical assistance to clients and projects while working under the guidance of the Discipline Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee dose and shielding initiatives and provide technical direction on additional projects
  • Deliver specialized knowledge in dose and shielding safety evaluations, remaining updated with the latest methodologies
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to tackle safety-related challenges
  • Recognize new business opportunities and offer technical support for proposals
  • Engage closely with the team to guarantee prompt and high-quality project execution
  • Develop asset management strategies and track performance metrics
  • Guide junior team members through complex project tasks
  • Contribute to the enhancement of radiation protection protocols
  • Potential travel to various client locations and offices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in radiation shielding and dose evaluation within the nuclear sector
  • Proficient in radiation transport codes such as MCNP, Attila, among others
  • Experience in dose and shielding safety evaluations with familiarity in advanced methodologies
  • Understanding of nuclear criticality principles
  • Possession of 'SC' UK Security Clearance or readiness to obtain it
