About the Role

Total Resourcing Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Junior Radiation Protection Specialist to join their Technical Division. As a Junior Radiation Protection Specialist, you will play a vital role in driving forward innovation across the Nuclear industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert knowledge of shielding safety assessment, including staying up-to-date with developments in methodology, relevant codes, and data.
  • Support multi-disciplinary teams in addressing various safety challenges, providing dose and shielding expertise.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities for the team, including technical support for bids.
  • Closely collaborate with the rest of the team to ensure delivery with high quality and on time.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of radiation protection, safety processes, and procedures.
  • Support the company's business development activities.
  • Occasional travel between offices and clients' sites may be required.

Requirements

Preferred Requirements

  • Relevant degree in a relevant scientific or engineering technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in radiation shielding and dose assessment within the Nuclear industry.
  • Working knowledge of the application of radiation transport-based codes such as MCNP, Attila, ADVANTG, MCBEND, FLUKA, and Microshield, etc.
  • Good level of knowledge in the specialist field of dose and shielding safety assessment with some knowledge of advanced assessment techniques.
  • A working knowledge of aspects of nuclear Criticality would be beneficial.
  • Hold a minimum of 'SC' UK Security Clearance, or be willing to obtain.
